Microsoft launches the new windows 10S and they are decided to launch in new laptops coming to market. we are here tell you whats different and changes are in windows 10S as compared to windows 10.

First let me tell you what windows 10S is ? According to microsoft windows 10S is a platform streamlined for simplicity, speed and security. it's aimed at students, teachers and for use at educational institutes.
Also with windows 10S microsoft is taking on Google's Chrome OS which is decently popular in countries like U.S. thanks to the budget chromebooks in the office .

Let's talk about the changes it brings when compared to windows 10 ;-

1. The biggest change in windows 10S is that you can only install apps from the windows store, you heard that right that you cannot install desktop programs on windows 10S. when you try to install a desktop programs like chrome on windows 10S you got a message says " this mode of windows only run verified apps from the store" the message also have a text saying "still want to run this unverified app" see how and when we click on the see how button it takes to windows 10 Pro buying page.
Not allowing installation apps from other sources will definitely approve the overall security of the system. however most of the popular desktop programs like chrome,photoshop etc. aren't available from windows store thus the limitation can also result in incompatibility with some drivers since they rely on the installation of third-party programs for example- we cannot even install AMD's control center or even NVIDIA Geforce Experience software. let me tell you that registry editors and even command prompt cannot be launched. the windows store has more than 700,000 apps but problem here is not the quantity but the quality there are a number of bloated and useless apps on the windows store. With the limitation of only installing windows store apps certainly limits windows 10S operating system.



2. As you might have guessed Microsoft Edge is the default browser in windows 10S. well Edge is the decent browser most of us use chrome or firefox as default browser and this is where things go bad in windows 10S. there is no way to change the default browser, here in the windows setting page you can change the default mail app, video player, music player, photo viewer etc. but you cannot change the default browser. now that's another limitation i don't like that users can install any browser as long as it available in the windows store. chrome isn't by the way but the default browser will remain microsoft edge



3. Microsoft is not only forcing the edge browser and the windows store apps, it is also forcing Bing on its users. I am talking about the fact that you cannot change the search engine in edge form bing to google or anything else. it's even more disappointing considering the fact that microsoft lets users change the default search engine in edge in windows 10 Pro or Home. now we all know that bing really lacking as compared to google which makes the experience on edge even worse. you can always go to google.com and search for things but that's not really convenient is it.



4. Windows 10S has its flaws but there are some positives to. microsoft promises great performance even in low end hardware in windows 10S. along with great performance the lightweight nature of the OS also means great battery life. According to Microsoft Surface laptops running 10S is faster than 13-inch MacBook Air and has a battery will last 14 hours on continuous video playback now this is seriously impressive . On my modest HP Laptop I usually get around 3-4 hours of battery life but with windows 10S laptop lasts for around 5-6 hours. moreover windows 10S brings brings great security as you can only install apps from windows store and also due to the fact windows defender has grown on to become a decent security service it looks modern and looks very well


5. Windows 10S based upon Windows 10 Pro so it shares the lot of enterprise features with the pro version like AZURE AD Domain join, Windows Update, Windows Store for Businesses and Bitlocker etc. that's makes windows 10S perfect for educational institutions and you get all the other windows 10 features you've come to expect like cortana, onedrive integration, windows sync etc. well if you are think that windows 10S is a new operating system you are so wrong windows 10S is a log down version of windows 10. the limitation in windows 10S are something that i cannot live with. sure it brings with few benefits like better performance, battery and security but it cuts down the functionality of windows by quite a margin which makes windows 10S to Windows RT2.0 for me. if you not a power user and you do not need desktop programs windows 10S is far better option than chrome OS.

1. Torchie: torchie is a flashlight app. it activated through volume buttons and if your smartphone does not have flashlight the app activated the screen flash 
2. Navbar Apps: this app lets you to add some personality to the otherwise bland and boring navigation bar. you can add color or set a picture to your navigation bar. you can also set the navigation bar to have color's that match the app that opened up that time. also it bring widgets to your navigation bar. this app is free but you need the premium version if you want to set a custom image in a navigation bar.
3. Hermit: you must be tired of apps slowing your phone down and battery. this app is here for your rescue. this app lets you create lite apps for your favourite portals or services. for example- you can create facebook lite app which simply be a web app or web version of facebook. you can choose the theme for your app, integrate search and share option & more. the free version of the app lets you only customize two lite apps so you will have the premium version to create unlimited lite apps and customizer.
4. Radon: radon lets you share links in a very easy way. the free app uses phones wifi, bluetooth and ultrasound signals to let you easily share links or smaller data. you can just tap the share button anywhere on android and from the share option select beam with radon then recipients can simply open the radon app on their devices and the link or file on their devices will automatically open. it is really handy when we have to share youtube video or link of a article.
5. Drupe: this app just combine your contact and communication app seamlessly. the app features the floating icon on the homescreen which can be swipe to bring up the dialer. the interface app features the list of your contacts on the left and on the right list features have various actions like ( Call, message, e-mail, whatsapp and more ). all you need to do just press and hold the contact and drop it to one of those actions to quickly call or message through the various apps listed. this app is free and it has many more features.

Magnify: magnify is an app for instagram addicts. it brings you the most popular hashtags in various categories for instagram and you can insert multiple hashtags from different categories. it even lets you scheduled post however the app does not automatically post on instagram for you instead it notifies you to post at a scheduled time. this app repost directly from instagram. this app is free but for more tags and more features you need the premium version.
9. Snap Swipe Drawer: android widgets are much loved features but not everyone loved that. so this app lets you to move your favourite widgets to your notification bar. this app is free but for unlimited widgets you need the pro version.
